The Nasarawa State House of Assembly in collaboration with Multiventures Resources Ltd has organized a 3-Day Capacity Building Workshop for returning and new members of the 7th Assembly to be inaugurated next month.
The retreat taking place in Jos,the Plateau State Capital with the “theme- Legislative Practice and Procedure” also had as participants management staff and committee Secretaries of the House.
Declaring the 3 days retreat Open, the Speaker of the Assembly, Rt. Hon Ibrahim Balarabe Abdullahi, appreciated Governor Abdullahi Sule for all the support and cordial working relationship with the state legislature.
Alhaji Balarabe Abdullahi said that the training was to educate, enlighten and equip members-elect on the legislative practice and procedures.
The Nasarawa State speaker said he hope that the partnership between the executive and legislature will continue to exist throughout their tenure for the benefit of their people and for the overall development of Nasarawa State.
He called on participants to take the workshop with all seriousness it deserves to enable them acquire enough knowledge on Legislative Practice and Procedure.
The speaker plead with the members of the legislature to set aside all personal engagements and pay attention to the workshop for effective legislative duties as he also called on the members to be good ambassadors of the State in Jos while the workshop last.
He later assured members-elect of his determination to ensure that the achievements of the 7th Assembly surpass the achievements of the current 6th Assembly.
The retreat featured various paper presentations as well as questions and answers session from the members-elect.
